QUESTION

Eviction for non payment

Asked on Apr 25th, 2020 on Landlord and Tenant Law - New Jersey
More details to this question:
Tenant hasn’t paid rent since Feb. then used the covid situation for March. I had stipulated back in Feb that if they were late/not paid again I’d give them 30 dats notice. It has come and gone and they’re supposed to vacate May 1st. They are giving me the run around that they haven’t found a place yet still not paying. Frustrated. What are my options?!

Courts are not excepting evection actions at this moment. You might consider hiring experience counsel to send a demand letter to strongly encourage them to pay back rent as we wait for the courts to open.
