hedge on property line dispute

More details to this question:
New home owner wants to chop it and put up a fence. Hedge has granfather rights and I don't want it destroyed which is the current process by chopping away at it. What do I do? Thank you.

Closely examine where the hedge is in relation to the actual property line. All growth on the Neighbor's all growth on your side of the property line is yours.
