QUESTION

Housing discrimination- hearing conference in a month for contested case

Asked on Dec 10th, 2021 on Landlord and Tenant Law - Connecticut
More details to this question:
I do not have a lawyer and I have a hearing for a discrimination case I filed a year ago. The case is due to discrimination of familial statues when a management company told me I would not be able to rent an apartment because I was starting a family (aka pregnant), and then would not inform me of any other available properties as I requested. What should I be preparing for this hearing, since I do not have a lawyer? What should I be asking for? Is a lawyer necessary for a hearing? The state will not represent me it says in the hearing notice.

I think that whenever you are entering a legal arena with the intention of giving persuasive argument regarding circumstances, facts and the law, you should not only be represented but represented by an experienced, well regarded, attorney.  Please feel free to contact us for further information. 203.870.6700
