Most lawyers charge between $1200- $2500 to represent a buyer or seller of a co-op. (My fee is closer to $1200). The attorney for a co-op buyer, in particular, has a great deal of work prior to purchase and must review the offering plan & amendments, recent financial statements, proprietary lease, house rules and board minutes, and must communicate not only with the seller's attorney but with the management company and sometimes the board with respect to the buyer's application for approval.
