QUESTION

I want my security deposit back. It's $1350.00

More details to this question:
I moved out of my previous address on July 24, 2022. I lived there for 12 years. I left the apartment steam cleaned. I have tried to contact them about 4 times asking about my security deposit which is $1350.00. I'm just getting the round around. They claim that I will be charged $175.00 for late tent in July. I wrote them back with a copy of a postal registered mail that I was at the post office on June 28 to mail my rent check. The postal worker told me that they would be getting the mail on July 2, 2022. It's now been more than 60 days and I'm still waiting for my security deposit.

This may run afoul of Fla. Stat. 83.49 if they did not send a 30 day notice and you gave them 7 days written notice of your new address before you moved out. You need to retain a tenant lawyer to address this as the LL may have forfeited the security deposit.
