QUESTION

Lien on my grandmother home

Asked on Jun 27th, 2014 on Real Estate - Colorado
More details to this question:
The bank has put a lien on my grandmothers home on a loan that her home was never used at collateral for. She did however use her home for a line of credit from the same bank that was paid off 2 years ago. We have the original paperwork, and when we asked for the bank to send their copy's to us so we could compare, they are totally different. How do I handle this situation so they cannot take my grandmother home?

You will need to bring a suit claiming fraudulent lien.  If you can prove your case you may be able to recover treble damages.  But, more importantly you do not want the back to foreclose on the lien.  I recommend that you contact an attorney ASAP to discuss this in detail and get some help.
