My boiler quit in the middle of the night, freezing my pipes, causing them to break and water damage to the bedroom, hallway and stairs, downstairs living room ceiling, and half of the living room walls and one window casing as well as a lot of my television equipment, surround sound equipment, etc. They paid for replacing all of that, except replacing the wall and window, they just ripped them out and covered them with plastic (which is now falling down), they didn't retexture the living room ceiling, and we have gone 2 winters now without heat!! We have been using space heaters to try to heat an over 1700 sq ft house and I am a disabled single mom with 3 kids still at home. I now have an electric bill of over $1,700!! The space heaters are tripping our circut breakers! I have our agent recorded on the phone when I called him begging him to put us in a hotel because it was 40 degrees in our house and he said just use more blankets and hang in there!! I want to sue them now! Help!
You are right. You need to bring a coverage lawsuit against the insurance company. If the matter is large enough, there are firms that do this on contingency. Otherwise, you will need to pay a lawyer yourself. I hope you had an adjuster at the time to prove the damages and the cause.
