Home I rent is currently in process of being sold. The sale has not been finalized and will not be until later in the month. New owner is currently requesting rent for July plus deposit prior to finalization of sale. Am I legally obligated to comply? Rent for July has not been paid to current owner as they are the ones requesting it be done this way. Should be noted I am month to month at this time. No lease in place

You should get a written agreement from both Seller and Buyer as to which party you are to pay your July 2013 rents.
