More details to this question:
On March 25th my husband and I bought a house. The previous owner had auto delivery on with their oil supplier and never canceled it. So this oil company, which is not our supplier, came to deliver oil on April 14, about 3 weeks after we bought the house and after we got our own provider to fill 100 gallons. My mom was at my home and stopped them when she noticed. We received a bill in the mail for $600+ dollars. What obligation do we have to pay?
This should have been handled by your closing attorney. There should have a calculated per diem amount to account for certain utilities on your Closing Disclosure. Contact your real estate attorney. Or feel free to contact us if you are unable to get assistance from your own attorney. Good luck.
