More details to this question:
Hi, I'm married and last year I bought a condo in VA , I live there with my husband. BUT his family is kind of ambitious and always are worry about if the condo has any equity yet. So, i talked to my husband and actually HE suggested to see if we can sign up an agreement where he reject any income or part of the house. He doesn't want anything, because he said that I bought that and it's mine. So, my question is can we just do that and will be OK and valid in VA?? or if something happen to him, his family could ask some benefits or money?

If your husband and you sign it over into your name alone, and he dies, his family has no claim to it.
