QUESTION

Potential Fraud Mortgage

Asked on Jul 21st, 2016 on Real Estate - California
More details to this question:
My parent's paid their home off over 20 years ago. When I was searching for homes for sale near theirs on Zillow & Trulia I noticed that their home was noted as in foreclosure. My mom tried contacting the bank (wouldn't give any answers) & foreclosure trustee office (requested a fax - unknown response). The loan taken out was taken out without my parent's knowledge or approval. Should we be retaining a lawyer? If so, how do we find one in our area that specializes in this type of real estate/fraud?

Yes, you need a lawyer. It would probably be less expensive for you if you engaged a lawyer who knows this area of real estate law, and is familiar with loan documents and foreclosure procedures and documents. I am such a lawyer. Dana Sack 510-286-2200
