Rental lease question

Asked on Feb 09th, 2012 on Real Estate - Georgia
More details to this question:
My daughter notified her rental company before her rent was due that she had to break her lease & was moving out because she couldn''t afford her apartment anymore. The rental company didn''t contact her until 4 weeks later saying they were going to evict her & she would owe a lot of money. She doesn''t have any money & that''s why she moved out to begin with. She left the apartment very clean. Is there anything she can do?

No.  A lease is a contract which provides that the rental company will an apartment in return your daughter agreed to pay rent for the term of the lease.  She should try calling the rental company to see if some resolution can be reached.   If the rental company files a lawsuit then your daughter should consult an attorney.
