Renter insurance claim

More details to this question:
Had a a rental unit with water damage making it unlivable. Renter used renters insurance to pay for temporary housing. Her insurance company sent a letter trying to recover the cost of her temporary housing. Are we liable and or will our landlord insurance cover this.The water damage was from a tenant above them. thanks

Turn the matter over to your insurance company and tell them about the cause of the problem. Thye may just give it back to you, in which case you should tell the renters insurance company what happened and tell them to go after the renter who actually caused the damage. Good Luck.
