We are trying to buy a house but the owner recently signed a 6 month lease with his tentants. Would that contract continue?

The owner of the house we are looking at buy recently signed a 6 month lease with his tentants. He did not sign it but they did. If we become the owners would we become the new landlords?

If there is a lease agreement in place which obligates the seller as landlord, the buyer will be obligated by the same terms and contract and will become the landlord.
