What does my wife need to have?

More details to this question:
My wife has power of attorney for her parents. She wants to take out a home equity line on their house. What does she need to do that? The deed (the house is paid for)? The document showing power of attorney.

The power of attorney form will detail scope and extent of her powers as her parents' agent.  But the situation begs another qeuestion -- why does she want to borrow against the property?  What will the money be used for?  The loan may or may not be an appropriate thing to do, depending on the intended goal.
