Is it illegal to undo someone else's loan payment

More details to this question:
I was recently involved with a guy who when we were going out decided to pay off my student loans, but after we broke up he contacted my loan provider and somehow got his money back. Isn't it illegal for him to go into my account because after I have the money isn't it mine?
