The law allows joint sponsors to assist with financial sponsorship in green card situations in which the petitioner is unable to shoulder the financial burden by himself or herself. Joint sponsors should be a US citizen or permanent residents with the wherewithal and willingness to shoulder the financial burden in the event that the immigrant is unable to make a living for himself or herself in the States. For a nonimmigrant visa, a friend or relative can also financially sponsor, but your boyfriend may find it difficult to obtain a visa to study and at the same time work if he is thinking of a F-1 visa since that generally does not come with work privileges. Can the will executor agree to change the power of attorney to the children (who are named in the will as sole inheritance) to one of the children?

I think you are asking if an executor of an estate can resign and be replaced.  The answer is yes.  If the executor has been appointed by the court, he or she would need to  notify the court and the child would have to apply to the court to be appointed.  A power of attorney is a legal document that gives someone the legal authority to take certain actions on behalf of another person.  Estates do not have powers of attorney and  I do not think that the probate court in your state would recognize a power of attorney by an executor authorizing someone else to act as the executor.  But if all of the interested parties agree about who should be the new executor, it should be an easy process to get them appointed. ... Your having changed status from F-2 to F-1 is only valid when you are in the US. If you are out of the country and coming back in as a dependent rather than a student, the F-2 visa is the correct one under which to enter as long as the principal F-1 is still in valid student status.
