Yes, if you've paid into Social security you may qualify.  If not, you can still apply for Supplemnetal Income which is earned income based.  Keep in mind, all medical documentaion, history, must be in order.  If you hire a law firm or advcoacy group, they can take care of this for you.      Attorney Scott Bocchio Legal Rights Advocates P 855-254-7841

If you have paid into Social Security over the years, you may be eligible for Social Security Disability Income.  This is not affected by income from any other source.  If not, you may still be eligible for Supplemental Security Income.  This is affected by earned and unearned income.  You can apply online at www.ssa.gov.  The key is to be prompt, patient, polite and persistent.  If you must appeal to an administration law judge (after losing a request for reconsideration and a request for redetermination), you will need a lawyer.  If you lose, the lawyer gets nothing.  If you win, the lawyer gets paid out of your back benefits.  You can find one on the website of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatatives.

This is general information. It cannot substitute for a personal consultation with an attorney. It is not intended to be legal advice or imply an attorney-client relationship.
