Am I possibly elegible for SSD?

More details to this question:
I am currently on extended medical leave of absence from my employer. I am receiving Long Term Disability from VOYA. I have been diagnosed and am being treated for congestive heart failure, psoriatic arthritis, and sleep apnea. I am on track to retire early at 62, this Aug. 19th. Should I apply for SS or SSD?

No attorney can give you much specific advice as to whether you would meet the definitions of disability based upon the basic information given but it never hurts for you to apply for Social Security disability (SSD) insurance benefits.  If you do not qualify for SSD benefits, you always have the option of taking your old-age benefits early.
