QUESTION

Am I still eligible for disability benefits?

Asked on Oct 22nd, 2019 on Social Security Disability - Tennessee
More details to this question:
I no longer meet the one requirement of working at least 5 years out of the last 10 years. I've been unable to work since around 2009. I first applied for disability in 2012 & was denied. I appealed & was denied. I reapplied 2 more times & finally got a court date in November 2017 & lost. My lawyer appealed & I was denied again. I have multiple disabilities that are on the list of disabilities. There is no way that I can go back to work. My health just keeps getting worse. I don't understand why I keep having such a hard time, but I don't know what else I can do. I'm 45 years old now, I had to have emergency brain surgery in 2002 to remove a colloid cyst in the middle of my brain. I've had many problems since. Bad headaches, a seizure in 2017, bad memory problems, clinical depression, anxiety disorder, arthritis, gastritis, spinal stenosis and now I have a severe case of psoriasis that I can't afford to treat & I'm unable to get out of the house. I live in Luttrell, TN. I need help.

From your description, it is not clear why you were denied.  But it does appear that your lawyer appealed first to the administrative law judge and then to a district court.  Unless the district court's decision contained a mistake of law which was material and reversable, there is no further hope of appeal. However, you may well be eligible for Supplemental Security Income (SSI), food stamps (SNAP), the low income heat and assistance program (LIHEAP), and housing support such as HUD Section 8.  You may want to start by applying for Supplemental Security Income.
