Can I get disability if I had surgery and can not work any longer?

I had back pain one day back in August and had to go to the emergency room. I had to have emergency surgery. The next couple of month I had incontinence and back pain still. I had to quit work because I was in no condition to go back to work, I only had 3 months after the surgery that the doctor would clear me. I applied for disability and was denied.
