QUESTION

Do I have a case?

Asked on Jul 18th, 2020 on Social Security Disability - Florida
More details to this question:
I was diagnosed with Major depressive disorder and put on medication at 14. I managed it until I became 19. I was hospitalized for suicide 11 times, Spent 1 year in a live-in psychiatric facility, countless intensive outpatient programs, tried 30+ medications, 36 treatments of TMS, 13 treatments bilateral ECT, ketamine infusions and nasal sprays. I am currently on 7 medications for depression. I applied for disability but it is still pending and would like to hire someone to help my case get approved..if I have a case. I tried working 2 retail jobs. The ECT triggered a neurocognitive impairment (which I have proof for) that impairs my ability to take auditory instructions. It frustrates and upsets businesses, which triggers my depression, makes me feel helpless about my condition. Ive had people tell me that I am the reason that Miami is a horrible city, ive been bullied at work for my condition, one man had me admit that I was stupid. Do I have a chance to get approved?

You have everything to gain and nothing to lose.  If you don't apply you won't get approved.  If you do apply, and provide documentation and meet the criteria, you will be approved.  Only way to find out is to apply.   Attorney Scott Bocchio Legal Rights Advocates P 855-254-7841

Only the Social Security Administration can make that determination.  The standard is that due to a physical or mental impairment you are not able to work and cannot be expected to be able to work at any job (not just your regular job) for at least 12 months.  You can apply online at www.ssa.gov.  The key is to be prompt, persistent, politce and patient.  Most applications are initially denied.  You can apply for reconsideration and redetermination.  If after these two steps, you must appeal to an administrative law judge, you can find a lawyer to represent you at the website of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives.
