Asked on Apr 30th, 2021 on Social Security Disability - California
More details to this question:
I suffer from PTSD/Anxiety from being molested/raped by my next door neighbor when I was 7 years old, it happened almost daily for about a year straight. I attempted suicide when I was 13 or 14 years old but only my abusive mother knew about it. I attempted suicide again in 2006 (documented 5150). I also suffer from high blood pressure, arthritis throughout my entire body, taylors bunion (right foot) & bunion left foot, astigmatisms in both eyes that have progressively gotten worse. I had cervical fusion on May 30, 2019, almost went septic June 6, 2019, full hysterectomy (lapriscopically started and ended in c-section) 9/12/2019, accident that punctured my left lung and broke 3 ribs on May 30, 2020 and lumbar fusion on 11/12/2020. I cannot sit too long without discomfort, I cannot stand too long without pain. I can barely walk my dogs around the block without having to utilize a heating pad to feel somewhat better but yet I was denied SSI?

Most applications are initially denied.  You can apply for reconsideration by Social Security and for redetermination by doctors hired by Social Security on your own.  The keys are politeness, promptness and persistence -- and good medical records showing limited residual functional academy.  You do need a lawyer if, after reconsideration and redetermination, you must appeal to an administrative law judge.  With a complicated medical history, you may want an experienced Social Security disability lawyer to look at your file earlier.  You can find one on the website of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives. A lawyer who handles your case collects from back benefits.

This is general information. It cannot substitute for a personal consultation with an attorney. It is not intended to be legal advice or imply an attorney-client relationship.
