Does ssdi count your agi or gross income

I want to apply for disability.I have diabetes, nuerooathy, and breathing problems.I am a 1099 employee.I want to know if I can still work p.t.....Do they count gross income or agi

If you apply for SSDI, your income is not considered. It is not need based.

SSDI is not a needs-based public benefit.  It is like taking your Social Security retirement benefits early. However, any Social Security disability benefit turns on your being unable to work at any job and not being expected to be able to work for at least 12 months.  If you are ill but able to work, you are extraordinarily unlikely to be awarded disability benefits.
