You may want to file for SSDI and/or SSI.  Contact an attorney for a free consultation.

This is a challenge and will be for some months.  That does not mean you should not apply (at www.ssa.gov).  Whether you are eligible for Social Security Disability Income depends on whether the Social Security Admiinistration deterrmines that you are, due to a physical or mental condition, expected to be unable to perform any job anywhere in the U.S. for at least 12 months.  You can apply, ask for a reconsideration and then for a redetemination on your own.  If you must appeal yet again, this time to an administrative law judge, you would do well to hire a lawyer.  The lawyer will be paid out of your awarrd if she wins but receive nothing if she loses.  You might try the National Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives.

This is general information. It cannot substitute for a personal consultation with an attorney. It is not intended to be legal advice or imply an attorney-client relationship.
