QUESTION
Filing for SSD - denied - now says eligible
Asked on Jul 22nd, 2015 on Social Security Disability - Ohio
More details to this question:
Diagnosed with Prostate Cancer 10/11/11 which lead to back injury after surgery - was self employed not alot of income and out of work for 2010 and 2011 and 2012 when I filed in 2012 was denied due to LID of being 9/30/10. Got a part time job 9/30/13 and have been there ever since - have to eat and pay bills but still see a pain management doctor once a month as well as having injections every so often. Noticed on my SS account it now says I am eligible for SSD but not sure if that means I can go and file back to my original date of 10/11/11

Go to www.ssa.gov and apply for disability benefits.
While you can use the 10-11-2011 onset date, SSA can only pay going 1 year back from the date you apply.
As long as you have been earning under $1000/month -- PRE-TAX -- your part time employment is not an issue.
LTD is not an issue.
You are eligible for Medicare 30 months after whatever onset date is determined.
