QUESTION

Having my name on Artical of Inorparation effect my SSDI

Asked on Dec 26th, 2019 on Social Security Disability - Arizona
More details to this question:
I am currently on SSDI do to a stroke I had. I am also a Service connected disabled Veteran. My daughters have an LLC the started for there new business. I am finding there are several benefits they would be qualified for if I became a part of the company due to my Disabled Veteran status. Thins such as loan guarantees, Federal Grants, Government Contracting preferences, etc. I would have minimal involvement and would not draw a salary, possibly only reimbursement for expenses occurred. My questions is would this effect my SSDI? Does Social Security monitor business legal filings for SSDI recipients if there is no income?

SSDI is disabiity insurance you paid for with every paycheck.  It is not affected by other income, only by your inability to function due to diability.  From your description, you would be lending your name and status, not taking an active part in the business.

This is general information. It cannot substitute for a personal consultation with an attorney. It is not intended to be legal advice or imply an attorney-client relationship.
