My child was getting survivor benefit and I was getting benefit as a mother of young child who lost his father. And in December we received 2 letters from SSA. One for me other one for my son. The letter for me said” we can not pay you....” The one for my son said “your current representative payee can not receive your benefit... “ This month we did not receive Ss benefit. We need help. We need representative. Please help?
For some reason, it sounds like they believe your son needs a Rep Payee other than you. So you will likely need to bring SSA someone else in your family you trust to be his payee. Contact SSA to confirm and set up an appointment for that person to be your child's Rep Payee.
