My attorney dropped the ball on my reconsideration. She never faced the paperwork in. I got that sorted out myself and she was supposed to send SSDI paperwork filled out that they asked for. I also had CDs burned with photos and video and pictures printed. She claims she sent it in and gave the CD to her friend to upload that works there. My sister is my power of attorney now and told her she wants all documents. The attorney is tap dancing and saying she’ll send it on this day. Then that day. How can I fire her? What can I do?
Please read the engagement agreement. Most state that the attorney may be fired at any time for any reason or for no reason. Your files belong to you. The attorney's work product belongs to her. If there is too great a delay, you may want to tell her that you are considering filing a grievance with the state bar. Also, please note that the Social Security Administration is notorious for losing files. Your attorney may not be the person who dropped the ball.
