QUESTION

I know I don't have the work credits to get SSDI

More details to this question:
I know I don't have the work credits to get SSDI because I had my heart attack and CABG years after the place I worked for shut down the location I worked at. Like a lot of other people, I had a hard time finding a job, so I never bothered applying. I wasn't aware of SSI until recently, but didn't think I'd qualify. So, in 2015 I had a heart attack. Initially 2 stents were inserted, then 2 days later I had CABG x4. I received a third stent last June. Not sure if I should bother applying.
