August 2016 I applied for SSDI at the urging of my therapist. While I have no records available during the 3-month "insured period" I do have medical records of years of seeking help for anxiety and depression. After qualifying for Medicaid I was able to obtain a therapist and psychiatrist, and at that time my therapist not only told me that I qualified for disability and urged me to apply; she had taken numerous clients into the process before me. I am clinically diagnosed with Anxiety Disorder, Clinical Depression, PTSD and panic attacks. What she didn't know was that the insured period had changed from 5 years to 3 months. A law firm agreed to take me to hearing due to medical records showing many years of seeking help for the above conditions; all treatment attempted my PCP's and no referrals to mental care specialists. The hearing date is 6/14; 10 mins into the pre-hearing mtg my lawyer did a complete turnaround & said I had no case. Could a new lawyer advise me?
