Who: Myself I am 54 yrs old and I have been diagnosied with charcot foot What: long term disability vs. disability When: Not sure still under DR. care currently on short term at work, however I was informed this may go longer and into disability. I wanted to get more information and get my as they say ducks in a row. How: I have type 2 dietabetice with severe neoropothy in both my feet and legs which is going up the spine. I have been under the care of my podiatrist for approx. 3 yrs, and currently a neurologist. I have long term disability thru my work they offer me 60% of pay for so long, so would it benefit me to stay with them or just go to the long term disability thru ss. I guess that is what is confusing. I also cant apply for ss disability until confirmed and closed by dr. correct? and I am afraid if I try to do something before the final " you are not able to return to work" I may loose my job, so I am just needing to know do I or should I do anything as of yet.
