Mental Health and Welfare Problem

I have severe depression and anxiety issues, to the point where functioning normally is impossible. I can't support myself. I am being kicked out of my home in a month and I haven't been able to get a job of any sort. I was told that an uncle of mine declared himself insane or mentally incompetent, and so he qualified for permanent welfare. Is there any way I can possibly qualify for welfare on the basis of mental disability?
