if and when I get accepted to social security, will my pension automatically kick in? Who do I call to get this started?

the answer depends on the language of the pension plan. ask the person who is charge of your pension. ask - if i get SSDI, do i qualify for early retirement or disability retirement or some other benefit under the pension plan. ask to see the plan and read it over yourself too.
each plan is different, and so there is no general answer - it depends on the plan.
