QUESTION

ssi disability reconsideration appeal

Asked on Dec 12th, 2015 on Social Security Disability - Washington
More details to this question:
I have been receiving SSI for two years, I had moved from the residence where I lived and had been receiving my mail. Social security sent me a letter to inform me of a appointment they scheduled for me, along with transportation to and from this appointment to determine if I qualify for ssd benefits, of SSI. It was a very important appointment. I had moved from that residence a few weeks prior, due to circumstances such as I'm assuming of the new residents/ tenants, and all whomever were there/ staying there at that month I had left, constantly misplacing my mail, ECT. . I was in transition, as I had no forwarding adress . I would make it a priority to go back to my previous adress a few times a week and visit briefly long enough to pick up my mail and ask for signature (signed for package pick ups deliveries never receiving any UPS orders sent, or shipped to me at such adress. I went to social security in person after not receiving my Nov. Benefits or December, filledoutforms

Any time that you change addresses, you should update the Social Security Administration immediately. The best course of action for you to take is to contact your local Social Security office and explain the situation with your correspondence. They will likely reschedule your appointment if you had good cause for missing the original appointment. For more information, visit the frequently asked questions section on our SSD and SSI page
