Township set up a trash service with a local company for all citizens in the area. They never allowed for fixed income , single , elderly services that could be set up for the needs of the customer . Like every other month pick up or reduced rate service for people who don't need trash collection every week or month because we literally don't produce that much trash for pick up. Yet we charge the same amount as everyone else who does. Now they want to charge for a service they have never provided by putting it on the property tax bill to collect what they say is owed for a service they can't possibly have provided. In the contract if you claim to be on vacation you don't have trash collection or a bill. So I claimed I was on vacation and have never had a bill from the trash company and they have never collected any trash from my address. They also have never provided a trash can for their service since the contract was started over two and half years ago. So my question is it legal for them to charge for a service they have never provided, can a company or the township/government tell a person when, where and for how long they can be on vacation.
I they didn't provide the service, I wouldn't pay them. If they sue you, they will have to prove their case, and you can get their records in the lawsuit.
