Can I deduct my charitable donation retroactively? How?

More details to this question:
I recently found receipts for donations I have made to charity from a few years ago. Is it too late to include this information in my income tax report?

If it's within 3 years, you can amend the tax return for the year of the deductions. Otherwise, it's lost.

Too late, they have to be made in the tax year they were given or are lost.

If the donations were before 2012 it is too late if they were made after that, you bed to file an amended return.

You may go back 3 years and amend a return that was filed. So, if the donations were made in 2014, 2013, or 2012, you may file amended return for the year in which you made the donation.
