QUESTION

Kerr County clerical error on Property Tax statement

Asked on Feb 19th, 2025 on Taxation - Texas
More details to this question:
Kerr County evidently made a clerical error on my tax statement for 2024. I recently received a Certified Letter stating that they intend to add substantial additional taxes due on my account for 2024. Also they have raised my property value approximately $200,000. I am over 65 and have a cap on my property taxes. Do I have a legitimate case to contest this?

Yes, you can file a protest, and even if it is denied by the appraisal review board you can further contest the determination in court. I assume you can prove the facts you state.
