My spouse and I went on a retreat with 2 other couples and she is sick really bad and had to get admitted to a hospital. We are over 700 miles away from home is she has been in hospital since Monday and doctors will not release her until she is better. Can we do a tax write off next year for the expenses we are aquiring? We live in State of Texas and in Missouri right now.

Prersonal medical expenses are deductible on Schedule A of the Form 1040 individual income tax return, subject to limitation of the amount in excess of 10% of adjusted gross income. You should keep your receipts as proof of the amount and nature of the expenses in case your return is audited.
