QUESTION

Taking off a "member" of a LLC.

Asked on Feb 18th, 2016 on Taxation - Texas
More details to this question:
I was recently divorced from my ex husband March 2015. Things were supposedly all settle with the divorce. However, recent tax documents for a LLC were sent that need to be paid. Apparently my ex husband opened a LLC on Feb 13, 2014 that I was unaware of. He is listed as the registered agent. However under further engagement I am listed as management. How do I go about removing myself from being associated with the LLC? Am I responsible for paying the taxes on this if I am associated as a member of the LLC?

You should check on Comptroller or Secretary of State website to verify if it is correct you are listed as the registered agent. If you are, you can send a letter of resignation as registered agent to the Secretary of State to remove yourself therefrom.
