QUESTION

Why did IRS ripped me off?

Asked on Feb 11th, 2013 on Taxation - California
More details to this question:
To begin with, let me tell you that I have been in the US for over 5 years now. My F1 have expired. I have no valid visa now, no SSN, no work permit but, when I deposited some $900 into my debit account, the IRS deducted it off my account without warning. I remember applying for ITIN number in 2008 or 09 when my I140 was denied. Why did IRS go after my back? How do I solve this matter? I want to a normal life. I want to pay tax but I want to get legal too. Please help. Thank you.

The IRS does attach bank accounts, however, if it believes people owe taxes. I suggest that you meet with an immigration attorney to help you with your visa problem. That attorney may be able to help you with your tax issue, or refer you to someone who can help you.
