Do I need a lawyer? Can you recommend one?

More details to this question:
A man offered roofing services and we signed a contract for the service. The contract was with a roofing company in Albuquerque that he either works for or used to work for. It had a 5 year warranty. After 6 months the work started to come apart. I called him to let him know, he came out once and fixed it. It happened again, but he never responded to my calls. After a few months of trying, I went to the company. There I learned that the man had been an employee of the company but didn’t work for the company now. The company never got the money for the job as the former employee kept the payment and the company could not help me. I spent $2000 to fix the roof and went to small claims court to get the money back from the company but the judge said the company had to bring the employee forward. The company hired a lawyer and after a few months of trying to find him, he appeared at the last hearing and the judge scheduled us for a trial.
