Battle to not allow guardianship reversal?

I have been guardian of my now 8 1/2 year old grandson since his birth. His mom was a teen, unemployed, etc. She wouldn''t even get up to feed him and left several times stating you are his guardian, I want nothing to do with him, I know I will hurt him, etc. Got involved in alcohol (DUI etc.) cocaine, pot, etc. Would leave for days/weeks at a time. got pregnant and made that man marry her. My daughter has stated in the 5 1/2 years they have been married that he pushes her around (their oldest child has seen it happen), she wants out of her marriage, husband relapsed into Cocaine for a brief time, neglact of children, 2 year old had a broken arm 3 months ago. They now have 3 kids. When she had her most recent Bi-Polar meltdon and stated to me she thought she was suicidal, we asked about adopting this precious boy. We were RIPPED apart by our son-in-law to give him to them NOW. THey got an attorney and 7 mos later we are still in court with the child''s appted GAL on hold.

I am unsure of the nature of your question. These cases are complex and can take some time in court. Although you are the child's guardian, as you noted, you are not as of yet the adopted parent and it appears that she is seeking to regain her child.
