Can permanent guardianship be revoked

More details to this question:
We have raised or grandson since he was 2 weeks old . mother was incarcerated on drug charges father passed away. Judge ordered permanent guardianship we are biological grandparents our son was biological father mother wants to eventually terminate the guardianship what do we ? Child will be traumatized if he has to leave us he is 2-year old mother is a recovering addict

Only a court can award a guardianship and only a court can revoke it.
