Can the one person refusing to sign the check be forced to sign?

More details to this question:
Four beneficiaries are listed on pod. One beneficiary refuses to sign due to family differences. Check has been issued to one of the beneficiaries. Bank has told this person that all names on check must sign.

You can either ask the issuer of the check to cancel the first check and issue 4 new checks, one to each of the beneficiaries, or you can file suit in court and have a judge force the unwilling beneficiary to sign the original check.
