Me and my mom have been living in my grandparents house for 8 years, my mom has had power of attorney over everything and she pays the taxes every year. My papaw died in 2009 and my granny has been in the nursing home for 5 years and she died in February but we haven't heard anything about the house and I have heard if you have been living in a house for 7 years that you own it, I can't remember what it is called.

contact a local elder lawyer to make sure medicaid does not have a lien on the home.
