QUESTION

House Deed in one name

Asked on Mar 04th, 2013 on Estate Litigation - Florida
More details to this question:
My grandfather just past away, he has two homes, one where he lived with his wife, both are on the deed, and one where his son lives. That house is in my grandfathers name only and it is my dad that lives there. There are no debts are billed owed to anyone. Is there a way to have the deed on the one house changed to my dad or to either of the other two adult children. One lives with my grandmother in the first house and the other lives at her home.

You need to meet with a probate attorney in your area. He or she can assist you with initiating a probate to transfer the property. Assets in the sole name of the decedent must go through the probate process. Astrid de Parry, P.A. (386) 736-1223
