How do I get guardianship of grandchild

Parents are not always available , mother abandoned child, father not living with child who lives with us

In many states the parents can sign a special form of Power of Attorney, revocable at will, granting authority to register their child for school, obtain medical care, etc. Contact a local family law attorney.
