QUESTION

How do I handle probate

Asked on Mar 08th, 2017 on Trusts and Estates - Tennessee
More details to this question:
My mother died in December. She had a will and left everything to me, which she did sign but she changed the will to be more specific afraid someone would contest itbecause she knew I wasn't working and gave up my job. She never got to sign the new one before she died. What do I do? I quit my job to take care of my parents and worked until 2011 when my father died and then took care of both until 2016.

If I understand what you are saying, the old will of your mother  was signed but a new will was not signed by your mother. If that is the case, then the old will is the one that governs. Whether you need an attorney or not depends on the value of your mothers estate.
