QUESTION

How do I pick a state to file a will?

Asked on Oct 28th, 2020 on Estate Planning - South Dakota
More details to this question:
I live in a motorhome and rarely spend 2 months in a row in the same state. I use a mailboxe service in SD for my address and residency, even though I only need to be there when I renew my driver's license. My beneficiaries live in Virginia, Missouri, and Colorado.

Your Will will be probated (proved to be your Will) in the state in which you die or own real property.  Make sure that it is available to the person you nominate as executor.

This is general information. It cannot substitute for a personal consultation with an attorney. It is not intended to be legal advice or imply an attorney-client relationship.
